this is a great opportunity to visit and learn more about the IAMLA which re-opened last August. An important landmark, the museum is dedicated to the history and ongoing contributions of Italian Americans in the culturally diverse Southern California region.
The IAMLA, part of El Pueblo of Los Angeles Historical Monument, the birthplace of the City of Los Angeles, is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The public can visit the museum, which is located in the newly-restored Italian Hall, the oldest remaining structure from Los Angeles’ Little Italy listed on the National Register of Historical Places, and experience a 5,000-square-foot journey into the largely overlooked history of Italians in Los Angeles, Southern California, and the nation. Admission is free, donations are encouraged.
