Amerigo Vespucci and Villaggio Italia

SPECIAL EVENT – Mark your calendar: from July 3-8, 2024, experience an extraordinary celebration of the uniqueness and beauty of “Made in Italy” in Los Angeles.

For the first time ever, the iconic training ship of the Italian Navy, Amerigo Vespucci, will arrive at the Port of Los Angeles. This historic visit will be accompanied by a special air show featuring the Italian Air Force aerobatic team, Frecce Tricolori. During this period, Los Angeles will be the first city to host a maxi exhibition space called Villaggio Italia right in front of the Vespucci ship (Port of Los Angeles, San Pedro – Berth 50).

You can look forward to art exhibitions, concerts, DJ sets, panel discussions, delicious food, cooking shows, and much more!

Concorso letterario Internazionale “Premio Italia Radici nel Mondo”. Bando

Il Comune di Torricella Peligna (CH), nel quadro dei festival culturali John Fante Festival “Il dio di mio padre” e Piccolo Festival delle Spartenze Migrazioni e Cultura , ha ideato un concorso letterario per racconti inediti, rivolto ad autori italiani o italodiscendenti residenti all’estero.

Il concorso, meglio descritto nella pagina dedicata sul sito del John Fante Festival (https://www.johnfante.org/premio-italia-radici-nel-mondo-2024-i-edizione/), intende ampliare la discussione sui temi dell’emigrazione italiana e del legame fra gli italiani in Italia e i connazionali all’estero. Il tema del concorso, alla sua prima edizione, è “Le mie radici plurime”.

La giuria selezionerà 10 opere semifinaliste, 3 opere finaliste, alle quali sarà offerta la pubblicazione attraverso i canali del John Fante Festival, e un’opera vincitrice, che riceverà inoltre un premio in denaro di 1.000€.

L’iniziativa si inserisce nel quadro delle attività per il 2024 – Anno delle radici italiane nel mondo e sono previsti diversi eventi sul territorio a essa legati.

L’annuncio dei semifinalisti avverrà nell’ambito del Piccolo Festival delle Spartenze (8-11 agosto). L’annuncio del vincitore, invece, nell’ambito del John Fante Festival (22-25 agosto). Successivamente, inoltre, verrà organizzata una cerimonia di premiazione per il vincitore.
