Discovering Your Ancestral Records in Italy and in the USA

Part 1

Is a two-hour in-class workshop about how to acquire the documents relevant to families that emigrated from Southern Italy to the U.S. Geared towards novice to intermediate genealogists, this hands-on workshop covers methods on how to utilize immigration records, government archives and church documents to build a family tree.

Part 2

Is an online workshop of one and a half hours. It provides you with the basic information on how to navigate your process of cittadinanza italiana via your ancestry.

The presenter Bill Cellini, Jr. has 25 years of experience working with, translating, and interpreting Italian genealogical vital records in the United States and in Italy.

 No knowledge of Italian is needed

The Conference is open to Italian researchers working in different fields of science, technology, aerospace, medicine and humanities. The Organizing Committee also welcomes researchers from all countries and industries working on topics related to Italy to submit an abstract and to attend the live Conference.

Deadline for submissions is March 20th, 2023
Abstracts, inclusive of research summary and biography, should be limited to one printed page not to exceed 400 words and should be in .docx format. Please feel free to submit an abstract even if you will not be able to attend the live Conference.

Italy run LA event, June 5, 2022

June 5th, 2022 — Downtown San Pedro, CA


Celebrate this year’s Festa della Repubblica by connecting back to your Italian roots and showing your Italian pride through the Italy Run LA. Italians and Italian-Americans are an integral part of what makes Los Angeles the hub of Italian culture and heritage. Join the Consulate General of Italy Los Angeles and Little Italy of Los Angeles Association (LILAA) in filling the streets of San Pedro with Green, White and Red on June 5th, 2022.

Italy Run LA is a family-friendly race open to participants of all ages and abilities, including runners, walkers, and strollers. Experience an iconic tour through San Pedro as you run through the beautiful streets of our Los Angeles Harbor set against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. All participants will receive a race shirt, finisher’s medal, post-race refreshments and a truly unforgettable race experience.

Throughout the last few years, the Consulate General of Italy has represented Italy in Southern California, with an overarching promotion of italian values of inclusion, tradition, innovation and transparency. To celebrate all, we are asking everybody to come out and fill the streets to enjoy a “Festa di Piazza” and celebrate the Italian Republic.
